As a follow-up to our May guest blog by Dr. Adelita Cantu, the Youth Leadership Air Quality Academy has completed it’s summer session, working with 30 adolescents students. The Academy, conducted by the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio, provides hands-on learning activities for adolescents aged 13-18 about the health impacts of air pollution exposure and what interventions can be implemented to improve air quality. The summer cohort of the Academy concluded with a visit to the San Antonio City Council in which students made brief presentations to council members on ideas to improve air quality.
