Chromium can be found both naturally occurring and from industrial processes. Exposures can occur in the workplace, from eating contaminated food, drinking contaminated water, or living near an industrial site with chromium contamination. Chromium is a known human carcinogen, a respiratory irritant and asthmagen, and a reproductive toxicant.
