Summer is over, at least in a couple days. Time to get out L’autunno. Though maybe to keep us in the environmental mood a little Big Yellow Taxi, Where Do The Children Plan, or We Can Run (ok, the latter is Grateful Dead, can’t help myself).
Weather
It seems so important to say MAYBE on whether climate change has led to the onslaught of hurricanes, drought, fires, tornados, and other weather extremes. Of course there is NO MAYBE about it. Nonetheless it is useful to have some ways to talk about it. Go to Warm Water, and Warm Water II. Of course it was predicted, go to Warm Water III. We are all watching the change in our local agriculture, but what do you do if your state is known for a crop, go to No More Peach State.
States
This looks like a good conference on state level activity. Note that there is a streaming option if you do not live in NY. I don’t know if it will be archived. Go to States.
Gas
We have said before on these pages the only real solution to global warming is to leave those fossil fuels in the ground. So, if you were thinking natural gas will save us Go to Gas. Here is the language about transition at – Go To EDF. Maybe someone was standing on the deck of the Titanic yelling “Transition!”. For a full report on Methane and maybe it is not so good Go to Too Dirty. And if you wander that PSR web site you can find a video about Too Dirty.
Chemicals
Flame retardants and pregnancy? Why is this stuff still around? Go to Flame. WHY IS THIS STUFF STILL AROUND? Go to Children. It is a little early, but in preparation for Breast Cancer month take a look at the report from BCPP at Evidence. Diving into the science of biology and health effects Go to Adverse Outcome Pathways.
