The Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments is excited to announce our very own podcast, “Nurses for Healthy Environments”, hosted by ANHE board member and practice work group chair Beth Schenk. Beth is a Providence-WSU Nurse Scientist and Sustainability Coordinator at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. She leads efforts for environmental stewardship at St. Patrick, co-leads ACES (Action Collaborative for Environmental Stewardship) across Providence St. Joseph, and has worked with ministries across the system to reduce environmental impacts for the past 10 years. In her academic work, she developed the “Nurses Environmental Awareness Tool” which has been used in multiple states and several countries to assess awareness of the environmental impacts of hospital-based healthcare.
Following nurse leaders, the podcasts explores inspirations and ideas for how we can make this world healthier for everyone. The podcast aims to showcase the work of nurses in environmental health, increase awareness of the various environmental concerns impacting health, and to engage and empower nurses in addressing concerns in practice settings to promote healthy people and environments.
New episodes will be posted every Tuesday. The first five episodes are now live on the website. Listen to podcasts here http://bit.ly/2kQr6tW and/or subscribe on iTunes http://apple.co/2Bb3MxW.
